SB: 96.5 BB (VPIP: 100.00, PFR: 30.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 10)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A 7

fold, Hero raises to 2.5 BB, fold, BTN raises to 7.5 BB, SB calls 7 BB, fold, fold

Villain reads: reg with pretty high 3-bet frequency preflop.

I guess I did not want to play OOP post-flop with him with a mediocre/middle hand against his 3-bet range. Is my line of thinking correct? Is 4-bet bluffing even an alternative given he is light 3-betting?

Many thanks in advance!

I don't hate calling with this pot odds and playable hand.
The fold also doesn't look like a mistake.

how do you have villain as "reg" with only 71 hands? 15% over 71 hands isnt that wild of a number. at 500 hands, yes its on high side. over 1k hands, its def a something you should attack.
At this stake you should be 4b or fold preflop. Calling v 3B is out of the question esp OOP plus theres a cold caller in SB ( who is very likely to be bad btw) the last thing you want to be monkey in the middle of a unknown bad player and a aggro villain.

He’s showing disciplined aggression=reg. 15%3bet is very high, most recs simply don’t show up like this

Calling seems fine. Sometimes in these spots I find regs overfold but fish are still fish.
