Hey guys. Got another hand.
Villain is unknown.

PF:
I defend my SB with KJ of vs a CO steal attempt. 3 betting might be an option, but in decided to play it more passively.

Flop:
I check to the raiser and call with Top Pair.

Turn:
X/C, i don't see how i can fold here.

River:
I would have called another decent sized bet. the huge Overbet seemed very strange to me. Either V thinks, that I'm a donk and will call almost any size and he has a monster or it's some kind of bluff. I think he must have better than top pair, because on NL2 huge river bets are rarley a bluff.
So I fold. I don't know if it's too nitty maybe.

Let me know your thoughts!

3-bet pre or fold.

Otherwise fine. Overbets are underbluffef and this is probably a fold even against a normal overbet range

SB just loses too much EV calling OOP.

By not 3betting we lose a nuts advantage on most runouts, so the times we hit and cooler our opponent are dwarfed by all the times they own us with better hands.

Whereas, at least by 3betting, we get to bluff more and win uncontested (as we now have the range advantage going in to the flop). It feels counter-intuative at first, and you will have to train yourself how to play 3bet pots OOP in general. But the good news is that 3bet pot ranges are quite narrow, so it's easier to study and master (not as difficult as you think: depol boards that are good for you, in essence).

Ok, thanks! I used blind defense ranges from the micro grinder poker school. they wanted call some hands pre from the sb. Now I read an article from the upswing lab and will try the 3bet/fold strategy.

there's merit to having cold calling ranges from SB/BTN, depending on how much the population likes to 3-bet and what the rake is like (avoiding rake is a big reason 3-bet or fold is nice).

But also I don't think this hand is good enough to call from SB even if we have a calling range.

Suggested calling ranges for SB defense would be ATo, AJo, KTo-KQo, QJo,KTs-KQs QTs, QJs, 77-JJ (JJ also 3betable), ATs, according to micro grinder poker school.
