CAN I EVER FOLD THIS PREFLOP? CAN I EVER FOLD THIS PREFLOP?

05-16-2024 , 03:44 PM
Setting: 6-max table, rush n cash on GG, 2nl

Stacks: 120BB effective

Situation: CO opens 2x, SB 3bets to 7x, we call in the BB with KK.
CO snap shoves, SB snap calls.

The player in the SB has 15% VPIP, and 4% 3bet.

I fold my KK preflop.

Questions:
1) Am I an idiot?
2) Is there any possible universe where this would be acceptable?
3) Is my thought process that I am heavily blocking AK correct? - making me lean towards a fold (and the fact that the snap call is a 15% VPIP player)

Not trying to justify a bad play, just explaining my reasoning at that moment, even if it might be flawed. Please let me know.

I am very open to constructive criticism and am trying to get better at the game.

Looking forward to your thoughts! This is my first post on here, so not sure if I will be notified when someone replies.

My average stats are: 23% VPIP, 18% PFR, 12% 3bet and I wouldn't call myself a nit, even though I am totally aware how nitty this post looks haha.

I would've 4bet to 20 then folded if it still went jam/call.

Yeah that's fair. 4Bet would definitely be my standard play there, but this time went for a 3bet flat for some reason. Appreciate your input bud

My Answers:
1) idk, you should ask doctor, but by the way you are formulating yourself I would say No
2) Yes
3) There are 6 combos of AA, 6 combos of QQ and 8 combos of AK, and its very important of how many hands those stats are based off...

My guess is CO had JJ and SB QQ

Great reply buddy, I appreciate it. CO had JJ and SB had AKo, so you weren't far off!
Just out of curiosity, would you mind sharing your mental process that led you to your conclusion and your hand reads?

You posted this hand so it means you made a big play and it didnt work out.
(75% of my hand reading in this post)

And I give CO the weakest range like TT+, AKo and punts, For SB QQ+,AKo+.

They also not really concern about you as you look like 'dead money'(folding 100%)

Factors that I would consider in this hand:
1. How good/bad is my opponents
2. Notes of the opponents
3. What is their playstyle, aggro or passive (from previous hands)
4. Stats (only if decent sample +100, unless extreme)
5. What stakes/site I'm playing and how on avg they play in the limits
