Bet small because figured only way to get calls on this board. But since he was PF raiser, maybe could have gone after him harder?

Thanks for the advice...3betting pre makes sense, yeah.

My thinking Postflop was: since he starts checking streets after his Cbet, he's probably afraid to call any big bet I might make, so I started betting small trying to get worse hands to call. I was trying to look weak, while still getting some money in the pot. No?

I just moved down from .25nl about 3000 hands ago. Not too many, but my feeling is people act way more aggressively down here with mediocre hands UNLESS you play back at them. So I'm often taking a passive line , trying to get people to dump their money at me rather than go after it.

But I dunno, maybe I get this to work for me in a large number of hands, but even if "taking him to valuetown" works in less hands, the total value I'd extract would still be greater than with a passive approach?

The reason why you want to 3-bet AK preflop is that so you can barrel for value on a board like this, as they should be calling lighter against your more polarized range.
