hey guys,

normally i'm grinding the 15$ husng's but i want to learn a new format, which will be 6max cash. i was wondering what would be the best way to start to learn this new format, so what video series, websites, posts, blogs whatever would u recommend and would u advise me to start with reg or zoom tables?

thank you very much in advance for your recommendations and opinions,

cheers!

Blackrain79's videos on dragthebar.com are pretty good. He has many videos ranging from like 2nl - 25nl.

Also his book "Crushing the microstakes" is pretty good to get the general abc-approach to microstakes cash games.

I agree, Blackrain79's book "Crushing the Microstakes " is pretty good. I also love Ed Miller's book "Small Stakes Poke"r as well as Dusty Leather ass' "Treat your Poker like a Business."
Also I would suggest reading up on Donkr 3bet/4bet/5bet as well as Donkr Optimal Post Flop Strategy.

Start with reg tables and at a stake where you have at least double the bankroll you would normally follow - it is likely that you will lose a few buyins at the start even if you are already a decent SNG player. I also wouldn't start above NL25 for the first few weeks even if you are rolled for higher limits. I would also stick to one or two tables for a while until you feel more comfortable. You need to be more comfortable with automatic decisions and what ranges to use etc as well as a general idea of how the games play before jumping into zoom.

Best way to learn at the start is by reading the forums and posting hands here, or your thoughts on other people's hands. 'The Poker Blueprint' is also a good book to read when switching to 6max cash imo, as well as 'Hole Card Confessions'.

thanks so much for your answers. what do you think is a good balance between learning and playing at the start ? and is it better to start with a hud to just get comfortable with it ? if yes, do i need some sort of special hud configuration (like the coffeehud for husng's) or are there enough custom huds on the internet to find ?

as already said: thanks!
