ok i guess i'm finishing for the month. did ok playing a mixture of 5nl and 10nl, got some decent volume in, but is my redline normal?




i understand having negative redlines isn't necessarily a leak, but i'm losing at close to 10bb/100 from non-showdown winnings...do you think i need to defend the blinds more? i'm currently 85% fold to steal

Played terribly this month and really have no inclination to study to do any better.

Can't see the pic. I don't think -10bb red line is necessarily a problem, as long as your blue line is more than +12bb. But 85% fold to steal is definitely a problem. If you and your clone are in the blinds you have a combined fold to steal of 72% so BTN can even 3.5x ATC and still auto-profit.

yea good point, and i knew this but i kinda felt i just had to "give in" to the button lol. so what's a good fold to steal stat, 75%? also i feel like i might not be winning enough pots preflop, since my PFR is only 10% and 3bet 3% (i play full ring but even still...) do you think these stats could be another reason my redline is bad?

Obviously depends on the size of the steal. But probably like 70%? Your PFR is kinda nitty but if that's your style it's OK if your VPIP isn't like 15%. Also you're almost 6bb on this sample. So chill.

oh...lol i see where you're going wrong. thing is in new zealand we treat "days" as 2/3 of the american day (we discount 8 hours because of something related to the blackness of the sky at night causing a lapse in the circadian rhythm and hence is not included in our definition of "day"). If you want to find out more read Humphrey and Bigott, 1998, The Dilemma of the Daily Cycle:How New Zealanders Are Different and particularly look at pages 93-96 that's probably the most relevant part.

So yea this is why it shows up as 46 which by your definition would be a little over 30 "days" which means i've only included April in my graph. I could change the settings to make the number of days in the American setting, but i think you get the picture and i don't want to confuse myself being so used to the New Zealand interpretation of the word.

wow defending 30% of hands that's quite a bit looser than my CO opening range! looks like i might have to start playing hands like T9o and Q6s a bit more liberally.

yea my VPIP is 13% so the ratio is ok i think. 6bb/100 i'd be very happy with if it was for 10nl but it's not, it's skewed by my 5nl results, for 10nl i'm currently less than 3bb/100 which is mediocre at best. it would only take a small wave of variance to bring it into the negative. as you say i probs just need to loosen up a bit more

winrate is over rated, cash money is the only thing you should worry about.

but your winrate determines your cash money, doesn't it? i could well be a losing player at 10nl: from my current 10nl winrate of 2.5bb/100 and given my sample size, my actual winrate could conceivably be anywhere between -4 and 9bb/100.

yes and no, volume is key when it comes to this discussion because variance plays such a role the lower your volume is.
