Am I stacking off too loosely against this guy? Am I stacking off too loosely against this guy?

I played against a guy that is very aggressive and never folds to 3-bets. Maybe I underestimated his ability. I thought that maybe he'd stack off too light, but he just seems to always have it. Lost a lot of money to him and now I'm a little worried that I may be overadjusting, but maybe it's just bad luck. Here are 3 hands where I lost a lot.

PokerStars - $2 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 4 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BTN): 236.56 BB
SB: 110.1 BB
BB: 126.42 BB
CO: 120.83 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 5 A

CO raises to 3 BB, Hero raises to 9 BB, fold, fold, CO calls 6 BB

Flop: (19.5 BB, 2 players) 2 4 Q
CO checks, Hero bets 9.27 BB, CO calls 9.27 BB

Turn: (38.03 BB, 2 players) K
CO checks, Hero bets 27.78 BB, CO calls 27.78 BB

River: (93.58 BB, 2 players) 8
CO checks, Hero checks

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A A

Turn: (361.12 BB, 2 players) 7

Hero (UTG): 100 BB
MP: 100 BB
CO: 100 BB
BTN: 131.13 BB
SB: 55.48 BB
BB: 385.02 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 9 9

Hero raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, fold, SB calls 2.5 BB, BB raises to 12 BB, Hero calls 9 BB, fold

Flop: (27 BB, 2 players) 5 5 8
BB bets 12.83 BB, Hero raises to 39 BB, BB calls 26.18 BB

Turn: (105 BB, 2 players) 7
BB checks, Hero bets 49 BB and is all-in, BB calls 49 BB

River: (203 BB, 2 players) 4

My overall adjustment is to bluff less and 3-bet more linearly and be willing to stack off lighter, but maybe there is a better approach. Maybe the 99 hand was a bit ambitious, but this guy just doesn't seem to fold.

Edit: First hand he had K 2, second hand he had T T, third hand he had A 5
He plays 47.75 VPIP and 30.18 PFR and has a 2bet & fold stat of 5.88. His 3-bet preflop is 14.44. This is all a 226 hand sample.

H1
Prf is bad vs this type of player. AJo even ATo is much better 3b vs him.

H2
You can go even bigger pre this deep if he doesn't have a fold button.

Cbet bigger. You can even go for 2 street plan. Once he min raises, don't make min 3bet you are just giving odds to draws. Jam, call or even fold are all options.

H3
14% 3bet on such small sample is nothing. I would just call flop, it's hard for him to have 8x so you are stacking off vs better op maybe AK and even that has 6 outs.

K2o is crazy showdown for 50vipp. When you see something like that it's very likely he is on till, so you should pay extra attention. He also seems to have sizing tell pre 3.5 with TT and 3 with trash.

I hate betting turn in H1 and not following through on the river. If it's because you don't think he folds enough, then just take the free card OTT.

You can still bluff river if he checks since he'll have hands like better A highs that will fold. He may even fold some smaller PPs. Even if he calls it's a lot cheaper on a BXB line.

H1, think V would be too strong for a triple after the turn barrel on this dryish board, plus we still beat most FDs, so I think wp

H2 - w/e

H3 - I think you're on tilt here

I wouldn't get too into them weeds on player types @ 2nl. Especially with stats. Everyone = fish and making it up as they go along so just focus on playing ABC

Edit: i used to hate it when people said play ABC. I just mean play simple, non-imaginative and extremely value heavy poker vs these aggro types and you print. We don't need them to overfold in these all-in spots, we want to basically always have it. trap trap trap and enjoy the free BB
