i remember the hand, i think. flop was like 467ss and internet cbet-called it with T9o while squirtonu had 66, and squirtonu bet 8 turn big and bet-called blank river as well. i think its far too light - its not too hard for internet to have any 5x in his range. would be interested to see the actual hand HH.

/ sry for the derail

Don't think raising turn is bad, but also think calling turn is good. Esp when someone is on the level to vbet a set cause he thinks I jam turn with a lot of straights.

I think the real question is: Are you bluffing or vjamming worse otr 13% of the time for his call to be good?

As far as i'm concerned I've put in 2 much money to fold (I was debating at the time just shoving river). If you have it I'll pay it off. Playing this way IMO makes me harder to play against. Now in the future I can triple barrel my missed flush draws and he can't snap me off with 2 pair or some overpair (well he can but there is a good chance I could have a str8/set or even top 2). I gain soooo much future fold equity as my opponent now basically can only play his hand and not the opponent.

this kind of make sense, but still - so many connected 5x hands in internet's range preflop so i dont exactly understand the reasoning for 3/4 psb on the turn. if he jams on you, you have to muck and also he might think that you yourself can have the straight and thus fold a hand like A7 or w/e.

If you start barreling more and more opponents will realize that you don't have the nuts often enough to be betting the way you do. By having a blended range like stated above it allows me to barrel boards where my opponent really has no other option other then to play his hand. Once you force your opponent to take that route you now have to barrel the crap out of scary boards to capitalize on your fold equity you've now earned (having a blended range is only optimal if you are going to bluff a lot).

People will try to adapt by just closing their eyes and calling marginal hands down. They will also periodically spazz their draws on the turn... Most people will not raise their made hand on the turn as they know there is a excellent chance I'm going to shovel the money in for them (this way they don't scare me away... which is fine with me + if they do start raising their made hands on the turn... its an easy adjustment for me).

Having a nuts/nothing image is really bad and makes you exploitable to any decent opponent.

I guess he's saying he wants to value bet in spots where it's unlikely his opponent will call with a worse hand in order to bluff later in those same spots.
