Both. It’s not right or wrong. They should have slightly different range structures that suits the sizing

You can run solves at all different sizes. You could solve it at 4x if you want. But I think the GTO ones from GTO Wizard are the highest EV. At 100bb, 2bb from UTG and HJ, 2.3bb from CO, 2.5bb from button, 3x from SB. But you can use anywhere from 2 to 2.5 from UTG through button and I don't think EV changes much. SB I think 3x is probably best.

3x is not a good size besides in the small blind. That overshoots it. You get less action, the action get is from a stronger range if you 3x it, and you aren't giving yourself a good price to steal the blinds.

2.5x and 2.25x are common sizes that regs use. Most do 2.5x out of button, but I know some pros 2x the button because people aren't as familiar with how to respond to that sizing. For example, BB is supposed to defend K4o and A2o to a 2x from the button at 200nl rake, but at a 2.5x open they should only be defending A4o and K9o.
