Villain was 22/22 over 9 and had already 3bet 1/4. I decided to take an aggressive line because he looks slightly fishy (who raises so small in this position) and otherwise I am essentially set-mining with JJ oop which sucks as far as I'm concerned. I put villain on broadways and pps 22+.

Should I be more aggressive post flop? Put him in on the turn?

More otf and get it in ott. By calling the turn you put your self in the awkward spot when an over hits the river. Not like you're ever folding on the river once you get these odds, but it's just less awkward. 9 hands isn't really a read, but given his stack size he's prolly a fishy player so i'd stack off ott.

Against a half stack bet more on the flop and shove the blank turn.

I'd rather just flat JJ pre.

As played, you should be betting flop/turn bigger expecting to get it in with the half stack.

I don't mind your preflop 3bet, but once you get postflop in a 3bet pot with an overpair, you've got to play faster. Your threebet has already denied them odds to draw to sets and smaller flushes, so keep your foot on the gas.

Can't be afraid of losing half a stack with an overpair. Go read up on SPR if you want further reading

Yeah I agree I need to be playing much harder. At the time I dont think I was giving it enough thought, but in this spot again I would have the villain all in on the turn.

I like 3-bet preflop, bet all-in OTF, allow him to make a mistake when you are most likely ahead, don't let him catch up with cheap/free cards. you checked 39103 and then called a bet with ace hitting the river, not sure of reads but logic seems interesting.

In a 3 bet pot with an overpair, you should be stacking this on the turn.

And you don't have to set mine with JJ. There are an absolute ton of boards where you will be happy to play a decent pot, and lots of situations where calling is better than 3 betting.

appreciate the help guys. Massive bad patch at the moment, AA busted by KTo in the SB, queens getting bust by A9o. Bad times. At least with this one I played it subobtimally but got paid off - Villain had 44. Hehehe.
