I wasn't really sure about this call against a complete unknown. It was his first or second hand at the table. I felt like it could be 22 or 88 a lot of the time here but could be a worse ace or ak for a split. dunno now that im looking back it seems like an obvious fold but sometimes i have seen a complete bluff here as well. the clock ran down and i hit call.

It's a tough spot against an unknown on this dry board. I would lead out for slightly more but I find a fold here and make a note.

I feel like you'll see A8/A2 more than a set here, and not just because of combinatorics. I still probably 3b AI on the flop though, and I guess I call as played.

3bet all-in on flop is no good (well not best anyway). Even if you're gonna get it in just calling the flop and checking turn is much better IMO. If he's got a weaker ace it's goin in anyway and if he's trying a weird bluff this gives him a second chance and if he doesn't take it you can shove river anyway and he isn't gonna fold the weaker A if he woulda called the flop 3bet with it. There are literally no draws.

That said I will fold this vs. some villians obviously. Against an unknown I hate this spot, but I ain't folding it....Make a note though.

I'm a little unfamiliar with the NL50 climate but 3BAI on such a dry flop at NL100 basically never gets called by worse, making call flop CRAI turn way better.

Anyone more in tune with these games wanna comment? I feel like for 3b to be better than call CRAI you have to get looked up by a whole lot more than AQ

My post right above yours says the same thing. Call flop CRAI turn is way better. In this instance 50 is not much different than 100. 100 is really only different in that its more aggro especially pre-flop and it's hard to find tables that have such a big went to flop %. But with good table selection and playing like 6 or fewer tables you can find that it's really close to 50NL and even when playing more tables and such it's not REALLY THAT MUCH harder. 9Here's to crossing fingers to keep up my 100NL winrate I've got over the so far smallish sample; like 20K....I'm not superstitious though so...)

I've played a lot of 50 the last couple months, but the last 2 and a half weeks or so has been more 100 than 50.
