So I've been playing online in addition to my typical live play in order to try and work on my game-- Sorry I don't have the HH exactly, but obviously no reads on villain as this is Rush

Villain starts hand with 60, Hero Covers

Villain is in MP, raises to 1.75, Hero Calls with (55), everyone else folds

Flop: 6 7 8-- Villain leads for about 2.50, hero calls

Turn: 4 Villain leads for 6.50, Hero raises to 16, Villain Shoves (!), Hero ?

Again no reads, as for timing tells he seemed to bet relatively quickly but not like instantly or anything. My first reaction is to fist pump call but I don't see what hands villain takes this line with that we beat (is he shoving a set after I raise on a four card straight board ??), and we can't chop with a ton because not many 5s raise pre and we have two of them. On the same note, only 59 or 9-10 beat us so I'm lost lol

Since you raised you have to call but im not a fan of it. Just hope he is overvaluing his 2 pair or set.

Fold flop if you are not going to stack off now
So GO AI
b/c besides 9Ts you will see two pairs hands, pair+OESD and sets

Do you feel that I shouldn't raise once the 4 comes?

Waayoo is correct here (and has the best avatar ever) - you need to make your decision on what your plan of attack is before you call the flop bet, based on what possible cards can come.

On this board, you would decide (maybe) that you're going to stack off if the non-spade straight hits, but be very careful if the 4s or 9s comes (giving you a straight but completing a flush draw). You also probably don't want a 5 here (giving you a set but putting a 4 card straight on the board).

Seeing all of this in advance tells you that your draw is not really all that strong here. Plus, if you DO hit, your straight is not very well-concealed (since it's a 1 card straight), so the chance of someone with AA paying you off is lower. So you might lean toward fold, before calling and getting lost.

This all comes with practice.

As the hand played out, I call this. 59 is an pretty unlikely hand, if he has 9T then oh well. You called to hit your straight and hit it.
