Ignition - $0.50 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players

BTN: 54.52 BB
Hero (SB): 102 BB
BB: 122.74 BB
UTG: 156.02 BB
MP: 118.86 BB
CO: 96 BB

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has K K

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, BB raises to 17 BB, Hero raises how much?

Villain's raise is so big that it is closer to a 4bet sizing than a 3bet sizing. Should I just shove with my value hands against his 3bet sizing? Or is there still room for me to put in a non-shove 4bet?

Thanks for any help!

I think you can just shove. If that's villain's standard 3-bet sizing and they're 3-betting a non-nit range you might make a lot of money by shoving a fair amount of hands here.

I think the general rule is if your going to raise more than 35% of your stack pre with a bet you should just shove. Maybe you could min-raise him to 32bb, anything bigger you could just shove. Could also just call

In theory you're probably not supposed to have a non-shoving 4-bet range here, but against a rec we can probably get away with milking them with a 40bb or so 4-bet

Thanks guys! I will try to remember the 35% rule as a guideline.

I did end up shoving and was quite surprised when villain turned over AA. I was expecting a lot of AK and some weird hands that shouldn't be getting it in. I am glad I got this one right though.
