Decided to check turn to allow HJ to bluff jam, then when he did I suddenly felt nauseous. Weird!

Shoving pre-flop is interesting. GTO Wizard is set up to play shove/call/fold in this spot which I am starting to agree with. When we shove, we often get put on AK... so they just call with any pair or AK fairly often. The fish in the BB might even call with worse since fish love getting all-in with bad equity. Milking with AA can't be bad though.

On the turn, the board is pretty nauseating since QQ got there. JJ is going to be pretty common too. I never fold because I hope he is getting aggro with AK, AQs, or just on some weird spew. But against a tight, predictable reg it might be worth considering a fold.

Another factor in favor of calling is that a set might try to milk with a smaller turn bet while people who bluff with AK tend to just shove for what they perceive as maximum fold equity. Against this type of player, we are always ahead after the turn shove.

So ya, I am calling. But I am sad that my beautiful AA has been so corrupted by that stupid turn card.

Thanks, looks like calling or small/call our only realistic options. He still has AQ (though we have annoying blockers), sooooometimes KQs. Not sure how often AK jams but it's possible. Just a gross spot all round and maybe not massively -EV if we overfold but w/e

Shoving preflop with AA doesn't make much sense. KK/QQ okay but not AA.

You want your opponent to call you because he will have less than 20% equity vs you.

You just ran bad here, no need to change strategies because of a bad beat.

I've been taught to always 4b here and I probably still will in practice. But this is what Unguarded is talking about:
