yea, I've started barreling with hands like this that don't really have enough SDV to x/c but as soon as I did bet ott I realized just how good this card is for BTNs range as well.

I'm also not a huge fan of my squeeze with this hand and would prefer to do so with 76s or 54s.

You could also just make life easy and XC flop. Turn would be a comfortable XF vs B-B if we dont gain equity. If turn checks through, on bad runouts we could still bluff and on good ones we could valuebet or bluffcatch.

Nice hand, Franchise804.

Squeeze pots can be tricky to play. I checked your line in GTO Wizard.

Preflop: 98s makes a good squeeze, although this largely comes down to what SB is flatting with.

Flop: Most hands are mixing bets, typically for around a 1/3 size:

BTN responds as follows:

Turn: BB continues to barrel for a small size, applying pressure to all the underpairs in BTN's range. 98s can also check-fold.

I checked several rivers and it looks like the plan is to bluff-shove on the majority of runouts. The river shove targets hands like TT, AQ, QJs, QJs, ATs, as well as weak Kx.

Nice hand!

gtowizard says it's 0.02 more ev to squeeze than call. so unless you have reason to think that population plays in such a way that squeezing is definitely better (overfolding, etc.), i'd just x/c pre. my gut says that btn ranges are probably not loose enough to make this appealing.

I'd just x/f turn as played.

I would think the K would be a better turn card for hero no? we have the AK,KK,AA also have KQ , I would wonder if we use this hand as a 5 out draw/bluff and continue barreling on the turn. I know Villain can probably have JT but we can also have that.

My reason for not liking the squeeze is that 98s will make the low end of the straight more often than 76s-54s, so somewhat surprised to hear that. Wonder what they say about T9s...

Definitely, but it helps villain a whole lot as well. I'm definitely on board with continuing to barrel as we have equity and minimal showdown value.
