Hello folks,
I'm an old lad that just got back to poker after roughly 4 years of "break" ... now I'm struggling with some hands. I'm mainly playing zoom atm, therefore not a whole lot of reads on either of these hands. Hope you can help me:
Hand 1:
PF standard raise. Vs the donk on the flop I raise, since i expect him to play many draws like that, did I raise too small? When he calls I guess hes just chasing draws so I happily bet again on the 5. When V raises me on turn, I think I misread his small bet and he just wanted to "pot control" in his fishy style, so I fold. What do you think?
Hand 2: Again no reads on V. Since it seems to me, that ppl try to steal way too much from SB vs BB at this limit, I enjoy calling many hands IP and float or Valuebet according to board etc., therefore I "only" call KQo here ... would you recommend raising for value? Since he pots the flop I dont think he got a FD or sth and simply valuebets some hopefully weaker Kx. No worse hand would call to a raise, therefore I call. the 3 is pretty much a blank imo --> call. When V then fires the river as well, I'm really worried what he is valuebetting this hard that I still beat and fold ... Ppl at NL2 just dont seem agressive enough to give me a clear call here ... am I too weak here?
Hand 3: 142 hands of V but they kinda don't help me that much. Seems pretty reg-like.
pf standard openraise. V calls OTB, so i give him all PP, some broadways, maybe some Axs. He doesn't hit the flop too well, so I bet in order to not let broadways draw freely and I see smaller PP call. Planing on barreling the turn on many cards since many hands of V can draw me out. 2 is neither a blank nor super scary, dont see him having 56, A5 too often. As planed, I barrel again. Surprisingly he calls and I put him on Jx. I thought he probably wouldn't bet if checked to, since I played my hand quite agressively and hope he checks behind. He bets 2/3 ps and I'm completely confused. Can't see what he puts me on to valuebet vs me like this. Does he feel so save w/ Jx? Wouldn't he have 3bet QQ+ preflop? Board is not very drawy, so what would he have called twice with. Absolutely confused and therefore folded ... what do you think?
Thanks for your comment. Do ppl really still call many hands oop at this limit I dominate if I 3b kq preflop?
Rather not, depends on villain. KQ does not allways dominate calling range. But you get some value preflop from folds and postflop with position and iniciative easy game.
