Thats what i thought.

I wasn't after advice when i posted this in BBV, but after being flamed for my decision i came here to find out if what i did was correct or not.

However people were too busy flaming for posting an apparent stupid question then to answer the stupid question and confirm my decision to get it all in preflop.

I think in a final stages of a tournament versus multiple players where the outcome will more than likely see one or more of them out, folding might be an advantage depending on your current stack size and standing, but heads up in any situation never fold them bullets.

I think harrington on holdem talks about it in qaulifying tournaments

if there are 4 players getting qaulified and 5 players in the game

player 1000bb
1-3:1000bb
4: 5bb
and you have AA when one of the bigstacks getting in pre and 4 is out, then folding isnt bad

extreme example I know.

cliffs: dont fold AA preflop in cash games EVER

Option 1

Perhaps vs 22 you could fold, because pair of 2's never lose or so the saying goes. Also if you opponent has suited cards then he has a better chance of hitting his flush that you do, also if he has connected cards like 89 or even worse, the dreaded 45, then he also is more likely to make his straight.

Come to think of it you could lose to a huge number of hands, it is probably best to fold here, I mean he has gone all in and you only have one pair. Dont listen to these guys, just wait until you flop quads or better before committing chips. That way it is impossible to suffer bad beats.

Option 2

Or maybe you could strap on a pair..........? seriously!

were your aces suited at least?

This thread starts tilting me... and why is it not locked yet?

he just got leveled by BBV. Just dont post there.

and the hand is standard. always call/shove with AA preflop.

Can everyone just get passed that fact that i lost this hand, thats not even mentioned in my original post.

I did call the All in raise and was flamed for it, which is why i posted it here to find out if what i did was right or not.

If your just here to flame some more then **** off, there is enough in this thread already

would you have called the all in raise easier with AK, cause that can make flushes?

Thought thats what i was meant to do but apparently folding is correct
You made the right choice, just the wrong results. Aces, heads-up, are an 81%-79% favorite, or 4:1.

Quite whining, shoving with aces pre is the right move, almost everytime(only real time is during the bubble with several shoves behind already on the short stack)
07-02-2009 , 11:08 AM
Dude they were ****ing kidding when they said fold to a 5bet... learn sarcasm. Of course you don't fold AA preflop here ever.
07-02-2009 , 11:10 AM
Ugh people advocating folding aces on the bubble, this thread gets worse and worse lol.
07-02-2009 , 11:21 AM
i guess stupid me for asking a question that is so apparently obvious to everyone else.

All i was after was a 'no never fold AA in this situation' or 'yes you should have folded'

Looks like i'll have to find a different forum to post my stupid newb threads at

lolll A+++ thread
07-02-2009 , 11:27 AM
this is too funny
07-02-2009 , 11:28 AM
i wouldn't and didn't, however i was flamed for calling (didn't realise they were being sarcastic, and i was confused as i though what i did was correct). Started this thread to clear my confusion and the flaming continues
07-02-2009 , 11:32 AM
Yeah, well you're only learning I suppose and I'm assuming not idiot, so though ****, it got busted.
But also, learn to take a joke. Nobody is running you out of town here, trust me, you'll look back at this and
cry one day, then you'll do it to other people.

His first thread, the one that started it all: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/54...-vs-aa-523656/

Just curious: if everyone answered "fold" in this thread, would you start 4bet/folding your aces even though there obviously is absolutely no way you're ever behind?
07-02-2009 , 01:10 PM
I would call for $10,000 at 2nl with AA pf.

25,000 if I could put up my car.

How does this thread have 4 pages?!! Don't feed the troll.
