Villain is 53/23 after only 50 hands.

Pot control on turn. I felt a river value bet was good after the 2nd check and he'd call with a worse Q or 2nd pair. With the surprise shove I need to be good about 40%+. How often do you see river cr bluffs at 25NL? Is a fold standard here?

fold. value bet is to extract value when you have the best hand. odds are he hit either a flush or a straight. either way your single pair probably isnt worth the extra $20 to bet it on.

edit: probably the straight because 4 came on the river.

Easy fold, you're only good about 1% of the time here.

This looks like a straight/flush draw that got there, highly possible he missed a c/r on the turn when he made a flush.

Fold, you're beat.

Villian never bluffs like this here.

this.

also fold the turn if we get c/r.

as played river is standard fold - people bluff here so rarely it's never worth looking them up. Though suprisingly lots of people do

thanks. I folded.

If I value bet the turn and get a call, what is the river plan?

check behind or fold to a donkbet?

River is an easy fold, but that is not where I think the lesson is here.

Personally I don't like checking the turn, in fact I hate checking the turn. Ask yourself this question, why are you really checking the turn vs this type of player?

You are losing control of the hand. The guy is a fish right? how do you make money from a fish? Not from checking a street. I use pot control against half competent/semi thinking (not completly ******ed) players, who I don't think will pay three streets with less than top pair top kicker. I use pot control against them as I may induce some bluffs from them or maybe get looked up light. But against a fish, in position, just bet, bet, bet. Save pot control for thinking players, value bet the fish to death (TO DEATH!) and you can re evaluate if they shove on you etc.

I c-bet flop, bet turn and then if you put him on a draw then you can always check the river, but to be fair, I value bet thin vs super fish and bet the river.

He has a worse top pair far more often than he has a made flush, by putting him on a flush, you're just looking for the monster under the bed.

If you are not happy going for three streets of value and only think that you can get two streets from this player, then I like betting the turn as a reverse blocker bet to set my price for the river.

If he donks the river, the bet size would be a factor on if I call. You bet the flop and turn, I expect him to check to you nearly 100% on the river here.

yes I see that betting the turn is better here.
