This was my second orbit at the table, so I had no reliable stats on either villian.

I should have raised more preflop, but what do you think of my relative bet sizing for the flop?
My thought on the river was he didn't play it like he had an ace. I don't see any ace check calling my flop bet then just checking the turn when he hits (maybe a really slow played Ace-Jack). Additionally, my slowing down indicated I didn't have an ace, so I think there's a lot of hands he'd bet there, KJ, QJ, JT, QQ, maybe even TT.
Is this thinking correct? And if it is should I have pushed (I thought he wouldn't call a push without an ace, but now I'm thinking if the above is correct he wasn't folding his 5s full of jacks or whatever for another $3).
