Just getting back into playing poker after 3 month break, so not familiar with whos the regs or not.

I thought Villain was a aggro reg at the time of hand, but thinking back I think hes a aggro fish/donk, thus making this a bad bluff, but I decided to post it anyways.

5-10 minutes before this hand, Villain C-bet on like a 2T7, then bet $1203 into ~$200 on the 8 turn, I thought it was a misclick, ended up folding TJo. Few hands later, he like crai my cbet in a standard pot (non 3bet), forgot the board texture, but I thought he was just being cocky and trying to own me.

EDIT: Wow did not realize the board paired and I have no boats in my range -.-

Anyways heres the hand:

5/10 6max, 6 handed

Villain (MP) $2,279.87
Hero (CO) $1,954.00

Hero is dealt 97

1 fold, Villain raises to $35, Hero calls $35, 3 folds.

Flop ($85): 68k

Villain checks, Hero bets $70, Villain calls $70

Turn ($225): Q

Villain bets $225, Hero raises to $570, Villain calls $345

River ($1365): 6

Hero bets all in $1279

nothin more to say

why would you ever call the turn with As and then suddenly shove the river? that makes zero sense.

edit: oh, I just realized the board paired too. Still, pretty bad shove.

i think a cbet is ok because its not like we have great equity anyway given the monotone flop. Id fold to the turn c/r tho.

Btw Gorlom, is it just a river shove you dislike or do you dislike any river bet?

gorlom and babaar, you're not reading the hand history properly.

calvinzorr, it seems like a v easy turn fold, he doesn't appear to be a person who wants to lay down hands.

I agree. I doubt an aggro player checks this flop with the intention to fold.

Why would an aggro player c/c with As on the flop? I think you rep the NF better than he does, and he's not exactly repping a boat either.
Would villain play 99-JJ with a spade the same way? Does he fold the river?

yes, but his range has even less boats i think, ESP with his turn donk. also it could be considered a thin spade push. granted youre 200BB deep so its ballsy, but nevertheless..

My bad, obviously river villain checked.

Defiantly missed this, just figured he had no boats/nf in his range, and i can rep the nf fairly well.

i dont see what he donk pot/calls the turn with that check-folds the river. u rep the As fine, and its not even a thin river shove as played, but i dont think this player cares about what you're repping.

doesn't seem like you're folding out much on the flop, unless you pot it or more

but don't obv, and he could very easily be checking almost all of his range given he's oop deep, esp if you have an aggro image

his hand is the nut flush so much there, and you don't rep anything on the river, he's checking to check/call obv

you can't have a boat unless you turn 68 into a bluff on the turn
