10 high river call? 10 high river call?

Live game at foxwoods, 5/10. I have about 2400 to start the hand. I have been playing pretty solidly and have a good image. The table covers me. Theres a straddle for 20. 3 Limps around and i complete for 20 in the SB. BB makes it 100 , 3 calls and I call getting about 6 to 1 with 10h3h. (reverse implied odds nightmare I know). Off to the hand. AhQh5d , checked through. Turn is a 6d bringing backdoor diamonds, I lead for 300, bb calls the 300 utg makes it 800. I call, bb folds. River is a Kc bricking all the draws. I check and he shoves. I thought about the hand for about 5 minutes with 10high and showed the table my hand (this is allowed in a heads up pot). Table thought I was crazy and started berating me. Am I really that crazy for thinking about calling here. Btw, the villain in hand is a super irratic tilt monkey asian dude that is a degen in the pits.

to quote you from the Q high call thread in hsnl

Quote:
Cmon bro don't out level yourself. Bad players are often bluffing here with the best hand. They don't understand the concept of showdown value.
I mean, I'm sure you're good here some % of the time, but that % is likely very small, and calling here would be LOL bad but I think you already know that.

I agree and I think a call is usually not correct but the dynamics of this hand are much different than McStinkys hand with QJ.

You're gonna need to go further in depth than this if you want anyone here to even begin defending a call here.

He's a bluff happy asian that gets an adrenaline rush out of trying to outplay me everytime he is in a hand with me bc he probably perceives me as a nit that folds too much.

Made a very bad call preflop getting great odds with a not so great hand and then got involved in a mess. I don't think bet calling turn is that bad when he makes such a small raise.

Fwiw villain is incapable of value betting thinly for example he is always showing down AdJd here.

yeah, if you want to make some insane hero call, ok whatever. but flipping your hand over doesn't make sense, I wouldn't want to show the 10 hi if it wasn't good. I don't want this guy to stop bluffing me

X post from the HSNL thread since I am eager to hear from HEK on his hand/play.

For what its worth, I really dislike HEKs line here from his preflop bet sizing to his flop check to his turn call/fold line regardless of the hand he has. If I had to guess I would say he has like TT or something. Actually, I hope he chimes in to say what he has so I can understand why exactly he played the hand in this fashion. This is the most interesting aspect of this hand in my opinion.

Armen, fold this hand without second thought. If you guys were deep and had money to play with on the end then I can see hypothesizing about c/r bluffing the river but calling to pick off 8 high seems absurd here regardless of what he shows.

Good point, ty. Fwiw, I know what HEK had this hand. He's in AC right now and probably wont be online until Monday.
