Villain is a solid reg on the tighter side. Neither of us has been out of line and we haven't been playing that long, but have played before. I have a note that says he didn't raise a flush draw on the flop in a 3-bet pot, and checked behind on the turn.

Should I just bet turn? Or should I check turn, then go for a river check-raise?

I don't think you should be betting the turn, you're not getting 3 streets in a RR pot (ai) unless he has trips+. Let him take some initiative in the hand or you'll lose him.

River is mandatory given turn.

Against a solid player you should bet the turn here, and give him the opportunity to bluff. Otherwise he's just checking behind on the turn, and can find a fold a lot.

The A on turn makes it less likely that you have one in your hand. Bet 60-70ish on the turn, the illusion of FE.

gotta get the money in, checking doesn't do this, he's not gonna bluff here a lot, because if you have KK/QQ you c/c a bunch

Firing turn narrows your range so much that we get called light/ played back at enough for it to be way more profitable than checking, its very hard for villain to make a play at this board if we check and might just give up as he probably has showdown value.

Bet the turn,

Stack other Aces and KK/QQ that don't beleive you have it.

If he's decent I think you can put him on this type of range, Ax + Jx + 9T + air.

I would guess that he'd check back Ax on the turn, along with 9T based on the read, and probably Jx as well. He would probably fire his air, but might even check that back too and see if you give up on the river. So you have 2 options.

Option 1
If you check the turn, I think you have to bet and bet 3/4 - full pot on river because I think he looks you up with a Jx and obv Ax, bet small if you think you can induce Ax to shove AI for value. Maybe even over bet the river?

Option 2
If you bet the turn, you fold out air, maybe get him to shove? If he thinks he has FE. You also get full value from Ax hands and Jx hands.

So given these two options, I'd say bet the turn

Definitely agree with going for 3 streets here. He's checking back soooo much on the turn, all of which he would call AT LEAST one more street with...let him decide whether he wants to call 3 or 2.

You're doing something wrong if you're range is really narrow when you bet this turn

I too like a smallish bet. You only need to bet 40 in order to have a PSB to shove on the river. I'd probably bet 45. Gets called lighter, and induces monkey shoves.
