I'm reviewing some of my 0.25/0.5 NL hands on Pokersnowie, and ran across this hand I played a few days ago where it suggested my flop bet was a blunder or "major mistake." I cannot understand why.

We're 5-handed. UTG open raises 3x to $1.50. I am UTG+1 (CO in 5-handed) with AQo and pot it to $5.25. It folds around to the initial open raiser who calls to $3.75.

Flop is Q76 rainbow. UTG checks, I bet 0.4Pot ($4.35) and villain folds. Fairly standard imo.

But PokerSnowie hates this flop move and prefers a check. From a GTO-perspective, I'm wondering if anyone has insight into why?

Solvers can be weird. Maybe it thinks AQ is bottom of your value and you block continue range on dry board and you cover one overcard. So I guess it puts that hand in check back protection.

Maybe because the same value we can get it later + we can induce some bluffs and we'll be IP

Betting is still +EV but checking apparently is better EV, I used equilab to try to understand better

Snowie is a good reference point post rather than the be all and end all.

Focus more on the concept that it might be trying to highlight rather than the specific hand/s that it does highlight.

Yeah this is kind of boggling, I don't see much reason to check here. It's not so super strong that we don't care about giving a free card to let the V catch up....

Don't know about the ranges on NL50, but the range I used (QQ-66,KQs,AJs,AK,AQs )gave us an equity of ~75%

What kinda of hands are we trying to get value from when we're taking a betting line otf?

Not sure if he's calling a 3bet with 66 or 77.

I would think we can get value from QK, JJ, 10s, maybe AK (not sure if he 4bets that) and we also benefit from fold equity, since and ace or a king would not be a great card to see on the turn.

if we remove 66-77 then we're up to 84% equity. KQ is probably calling 2 streets JJ & TT probably only one. JJ & TT might turn into bluffs/thin valuebets on later streets. *if we check

An A would make us 2pair which is nice , but yeah a K would suck but that is what like 6% chance of that happening ott

What are the flop ranges everyone has at the beginning of the flop btw (before any action has been taken).

I’ll take a look

Lol, oh right. I can imagine a case for checking then, you have a point.
