What is the deal with all the jamming What is the deal with all the jamming

So I'm no expert and am working to try and improve. I play 25NL zone on Ignition and 10NL zone on ACR.

I'm coming to this forum to try and have a more thoughtful discussion about strategy. Hopefully I can learn and maybe I can contribute.

The first thing I notice is a lot of threads about jamming flop, turn and river.

In many cases it isnt clear what hands Hero is targeting and if Hero actually expects better hands to fold to the jam. Many of these jams look like they will either only be called by better or will result in worse hands folding.

I'm all for jamming as a semi-bluff to get a stronger hands to fold (particularly on the river when I've missed my draw and the board missed V's range) or for value when I have the stone cold nutter butters and V is clearly strong. But in my limited experience, a jam will most often get less value than a smaller value bet when Hero is strong.

Is there some meta related to a big desire to jam?

Folks like to play for stacks. Most of the jamming (if you review your 25nl hands on ignition, even the ones you weren't involved in, tend to be bluffs), is to try to get weaker players to call.

I find they don't call, and value bet is the way to get (happens to me as well when I get middle straight). I don't see folks jamming here, unless you thing they have slightly weaker, but callable hand.

For best results, use your tracker for population reports, sim some hands in gto+, node lock for population tendencies, play the equilibrium solution and population tendencies solution, then node lock for your strategy.

Keep in mind, tendencies change every couple months or so.

In some spots it's important to either deny equity, or "push" equity
