I’m v much learning to apply overbets correctly myself but this seems like a good situation to do so.

Think it is better when flop goes x/c though as V’s range is more capped. Who knows what V’s range is with this line, perhaps 2 pair/on a draw himself.

it looks ok, id prefer to have less or much more of a hand tbh, hate to be getting jammed on here as we have decent equity but would be getting it in as a ~30% dog vs his 2pair/sets etc.
but yeah our range can take this line for sure.

Never an OB spot OTT. You are betting into polar ranges so betting polar doesn't make sense.

Seems less polar when V x turn

What's a good flop size? 2/3?

It's still polar, V just has more air in his range now.

In a nuts/air situation - we don't OB for obvious reasons.

Flop ~60%, rep that A. V's X/R could be draws, which we dominate/freeroll against, 2P or (sometimes) sets (eliminated when he X Turn), but also lots of bluff with backdoors. If he has T8, J8, you can take it away OTT.

If called Turn, we have tons of outs going into the river.

I like 2/3 OTT, you can then choose to bluff (if so desired) River or value bet when you hit, especially if a 6h rolls off.

Not an overbet spot. The SPR is too low, and villain's range is too polarized after XR the flop.

OTT I like a smaller sizing (~37%) with a linear range of made hands and high-equity draws.

Would you C-bet bigger flop, or do you like the 1/3 size?

It depends how you construct your betting range. I think UTG's range as a whole does better with a smaller size and a wider range OTF on this texture.

You could construct something like a 2/3 cbet or check strategy OTF, in which case this particular hand functions well as a semibluff, but I think that strategy leads to UTG checking back many hands in their range.

Yeah I don't see flop as a clear [1/3 or check] or [2/3 or check]. I would probably lean more towards [1/3 or check] but never range betting this. Just because I think villains condensed range has more 88/99, A8s/A9s, 98s than we have. We only have a AK and AA advantage really so I'm fine going smaller or check.

I agree on villain being polarized and him checking turn doesn't change that. This does also not mean that we can't have 88/99/A9/A8/AK/AA on the turn, because we probably dont 3bet these OTF very often. We won't bet this turn with AT-AQ when checked to probably so we are also very polar when we decide to bet so a size over 1/2 makes sense, but overbeting just makes villains life easy with whatever he has.

I think I’m general vs c/r check lines we wanna be betting small on the turn as they are generally fairly polarized and small bets destroy polarized ranges. I’d go like 1/3rd on the turn.

Check is also fine and realize equity and we have a decent amount of Kx that check the turn and can value bet river small so we need some check back small bluffs on river.

OB imo is the worst option, it gives him an easy jam with value and easy folds with his JT type hands. You don’t overbet onto polarized ranges, it makes villains life so easy.
