Hi guys

These are my stats from 2cent 5cent NL. Was planning on moving up, was wondering whether this is too short a sample and if I should wait...

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hands - 20,411

MY C Won - $113.31

My C All-in Adj $115.14

Avg All-in Equity - 57.42

BB/100 - 11.10

At first I thought you were saying -11bb/100 and thought wtf is this.

Moving up and down should be a decision made by your bankroll. If you have enough buy-ins, move up. If you lose at that level, move down while you still have plenty for the one below.

You're playing 5nl. If you spent the time to get 500k hands to get a really good idea of what your "true winrate" is, then by the time you'd done it you'd have improved to the point that those hands weren't indicative of your current winrate anyway.

In my opinion, you can be agressive with your bankroll at NL2-NL25 and use a 20Buyins strategy. Your goal should be to get to NL50(maybe NL25 for some people) or higher, where you can start to make decent money. Nanostakes are just for learning and a steppingstone for higher stakes. Congrats on your results, if you have 20 Buyins for NL10 I see no reason to stick around at NL5. As Bladesman87 said, you should move down when you loose too much. Once you reach NL50, use (at least) 30 Buyin bankroll management.
But those are just my 2cents

Be aggressive with the shot taking as the previous two posters mentioned. I'd move up to $10nl at $200 and move down when I hit 20 buy-ins for the stake below ($100). Get out of the rake trap that is the micro stakes.

Absolutely move up to 10NL immediately.

Late reply....

Thanks for the advice, took a break from poker, recently started playing again and had a pretty big heater at 5nl... (17bb/100 for 40,000 hands). Was thinking to myself maybe i should think about moving up and just came back to this site, realised I had set up an account and made this post and there we are.

Cheers x

Depends where you are on your learning path. If you know basics good and can IMPLEMENT it, then yes you can take shots more aggressive. As for me even i have roll to take a shot at 25Nl i would not, since i even yet have not figured out my 3bet/4bet ranges and make loads of mistakes postflopp. Maybe 5nl and 10nl is same same, but its difference between 10nl and 25nl.
