I would not be 3 betting the flop. I'm never in this spot, so it's tough to say, but I would probably fold given the price we are getting, given we block 77, he's probably doing this with a fair amount of A + FD, and he potentially could be going nuts with 97 (though this seems rare.)

Depends on the villain. You block a set. I move in with this hand, too.

I don't know why the guy above me says not to 3-bet the flop because you should.

Think this is A9 a fair amount. 99 is getting 3b bvb and 77 too which you block.

I'm ok with 3betting too, like live crusher bencool says. Have to call it off for 70bb, there's a fair amount of potential draws and stuff in his range and something like 97.

@sixsevenoff, I have multiple questions;
Why would you not 3b this flop? Given V will be 3bing AA,99 and most likely 77 pre, surely calling this raise is a strange play. We have a hand that needs a lot of protection OOP, villain could easily be raising FD,SDs,S+FDs,P+FD's etc and he only has 6 combos of A9 which beat us (which we could maybe even reduce down to 4 combos as there will be a lot of raising pre here with A9s imo). Just calling here is basically just allowing V to realize all of his equity with any hand and can also easily bluff us on later streets.

You also seem to contradict yourself by saying you would probably fold given the price we are getting, then say he's doing this with a fair amount of A+FD in which we have 55% equity against and we also block 77.

Sorry I meant call with the price we are getting, that was a typo. I guess there are a lot of pair + FD and just draws in general; I change my initial opinion after reading the responses. My original thinking was that I don't want to get a hero fold out of 97 or good Ax going nuts. In hindsight though, I like the 3 bet with all of the possible draws.
