I would just bet flop instead. I don't mind checking back some things on this texture but AJ doesn't have quite enough showdown value for me to opt out of betting, and it's a fantastic board for our range anyway.

As played, I'm still mulling over whether we should bet turn.

You should be selective about your bluff combos and when to use them. I'm interested in people's thoughts on this but I actually think the bigger mistake I see is people betting two streets and checking river too much. People are always check/calling twice with every top and middle pair, so if you want them to fold any of that then you should be betting here times. Three barrelling can be really good against plenty of weak regs especially because, hey, no one bluffs these stakes, and people are getting to the river with really weak ranges. So imo we should mostly be betting one street or every street and not wasting too many of those two barrels where you're getting owned by bottom/middle pairs and even better draws.

Re: Should I stop bluffing rivers?

Id cbet the flop, you might get a Q to fold here and if not a turn bet might, I assume you would bet if you hit top pair wouldnt you? so by not cbetting you are pretty much saying you dont have a K and i think a Q would have bet too so you dont have that.

I also assume you would also cbet a flush draw on the flop? If thats the case, unless you checked a flopped set you got nothing here so i would be calling you pretty light....

Dont know if this is correct or not kind of new to trying to analyse hands. This is just my thoughts on it....

Completely agree. I was getting killed on bbf. Im selective about it but usually if im going to bluff twice i bluffthe river as well. Its worked out well when i dont try it too many times

Bet flop. What hand are you repping that you're betting turn and river? Doesn't make sense.

just because you auto bet every flush draw on the flop and don't open any 6x in CO doesn't mean no one does. I'll have flushes and trips.

In a nutshell this is how I make my profit. I call down in a ton of spots really light (probably too light sometimes) but I am often betting 3 streets for value, and betting 3 streets when my draws miss but a n other draw comes in.

e.g. I open QThh 2.5x in CO and BB calls.

Flop comes J9xddh - check, bet 2/3, call
turn is the brick of hearts check, bet 1/2, call
river is the brick of diamonds check, bet 1/2, fold.

If I think a villain is only going to fold if I bet my whole stack on the river, then I bet my whole stack on the river. Sometimes I look like an idiot and get snapped off with the hand I am trying to rep.

The other day I got called down by a random unknown with King high and lost with 78s. (I took a note)

I just try and set things up so that on the river I am betting 2/3 value hands and 1/3 bluffs vs regs and I size things so that I am betting the same with my value hands as I am with my bluffs.

If I pickup a read that villain is over folding then I bluff a little more often. I won't change if I get caught bluffing, only if I note that villain is calling light.
