river spot bluff catching

Merge - $0.10 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 4 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: $6.54 (VPIP: 40.00, PFR: 20.00, 3Bet Preflop: 11.11, Hands: 20)
SB: $16.84 (VPIP: 32.27, PFR: 14.55, 3Bet Preflop: 2.78, Hands: 226)
BB: $10.22 (VPIP: 25.53, PFR: 17.02, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 48)
Hero (CO): $20.46

SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.15) Hero has 6 A

Hero raises to $0.28, fold, SB calls $0.23, BB calls $0.18

Flop: ($0.84, 3 players) 6 3 7
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $0.63, SB calls $0.63, fold

I think I have enough equity to bet here.

Turn: ($2.10, 2 players) 2
SB checks, Hero bets $1.57, SB calls $1.57

I would like to charge over cards and I wouldn't mind folding a seven or over pair. I think that I often am not though - so I think cbetting here is a possible mistake.

River: ($5.24, 2 players) 4
SB bets $3.49, Hero?
I have to be right in calling here like around 30% of the time ... do you think I can bluff catch that often? It seemed like a peculiar polarized spot to be donking ... what's your feeling on this spot? thanks!

I can't count too many bluffing combos from villain to bluff catch OTR
I like betting bigger OTT and also it's not a mistake
Something Id do sometimes is checking flop

Yeah I think the bet otf could be a mistake. I figure I actually dont mind getting raised here so I bet. Im kinda "take my equity now" player so without six I definitely think we can bet but with the pair and nut flush draw I like betting. Interested to hear what other's think.

Also I generally dont like bluff catching and I didn't think I was going to be right often enough to call. But I had a really hard time putting him on a hand. It just seemed odd. - I think I need some help with this. What does he have here?

Expecting v to have a lot of pp's and broadways, but can't really see a passive player turning missed fd's or pp into a bluff otr. On the other hand your hand looks like an overpair/fd aswell.

It looks like v is going for value and don't want you to check back an overpair, but who the hell calls twice oop with a gutshot? Maybe v had some kind of a combodraw with a weird sc?

bottom line though, don't think you can call this down and would also check otf.

It's fine to bet on the flop, you don't mind creating a big pot with that kinda hand. I would tend to put weaker flush draws in my check back range.

You're definitely not folding a 7 on the turn, your equity dropped and you might win at showdown. I would tend to check.

River idk, blocking 66 and 6c5c makes for a decent bluffcatcher. Also villain should probably shove or check with his value range being straights.

Betting cannot be a mistake neither, both are +EV, the thing I figure is that you block things that you want them to have, this makes me inclined to check. In the other side you also find betting +EV, not sure which is better EV...

It's hard, we need him to call twice with a simple FD (or 98s) and DB that river, one that helps more our range than his.

Re: river spot bluff catching

Plays can be +EV and be a mistake. I.e. open-jamming 100 BBs with AA is +EV, but it's clearly a mistake because it's nowhere near the most profitable move.

I think the bet on the flop is fine 3 ways. Heads-up, I would prefer a check back to try and induce bluffs on later streets, but 3 ways, there's more value in getting folds.

I think the turn bet is a clear overplay of your hand. Hard to get worse to call at that point, and I think your hand is too strong to turn into a straight bluff.

As played, I think we have to fold the river. Your range is pretty strong, so villain's not going to be bluffing here often enough for your to fold. I don't think he takes a x/c, x/c line with a naked FD. It'd be a pretty bad call on the turn. Most likely case is that he had 55, 65s or 75s and got their on the river IMO.
