SB ($8.35)
BB ($5)
UTG ($3.38)
HERO ($9.02)
CO ($5.22)

Dealt to Hero Q Q

UTG Folds, HERO Raises To $0.15 (Rem. Stack: 8.87), CO Calls $0.15 (Rem. Stack: 5.07), BTN Folds, SB Folds, BB Folds

Flop ($0.37) 6 9 5
HERO Bets $0.23 (Rem. Stack: 8.64), CO Raises To $1.06 (Rem. Stack: 4.01), HERO Calls $0.83 (Rem. Stack: 7.81)

Turn ($2.49) 6 9 5 K

What are you doing OTT? I could see V doing this with sets, FD. The turn bet seems to be for value imo.

I think I have to call raise OTF. Is that correct?

Flop play seems good, Folding turn as 5nl underbluff this pot and we crushed by anything in his value range sets and flushes

Why are we checking this flop?

Because his cold call range fits better on this board than QQ.Also we must have x/calling range here and to avoid this kind of situations that happened with raise cbet. With specific stats we can play this hand in other way but OP does not give too much info here.

What if flop was 695 rainbow? Would we cbet that flop?

If you have sample depends on how often villain stabs(bet vs skipped cbet) but in general you should check again if it is rainbow imo.

I used equilab

MP range 44+,A9s+,A5s-A4s,KTs+,QTs+,J9s+,T8s+,97s+,87s,76s,ATo+,KQo
vs
CO cold calling range vs MP open
JJ-22,AQs-ATs,KJs+,QJs,JTs,T9s,98s,87s,76s,AQo+

Villian is 52% vs. Hero 48% with this flop.

Ginna I didn't go to theory and solver talk just because of these things...
It's 5NL so no one really cares (not that they should tbh)
But for anyone who cares, by default, when you get cold called from someone who has position on you, on majority of the boards you check range(well, tbh solver checks 65-80% and bets 20.. So good luck with that). No matter what
2 simple reason why:
1- you are opening 16% of hands from UTG but BU is only calling like 6~8. So he has a better range than you (except the very nutted part)
2- on more than 50% of runouts you can't bet 3 times and expect call downs and win. Meaning more than 50% of boards are gonna change until the river, so you wanna keep the pot small OOP as much as you can.
Cheers
