This is one of those hands where its quite clear I played it wrong but looking at it again coldly I still have no idea how I should have played it.

Villan has a 14 VPIP 10 PFR 3 3Bet 64 CB over 4K hands

BTN: $7.61 (380.5 bb)
SB: $1.67 (83.5 bb)
Hero (BB): $2 (100 bb)
UTG: $1.87 (93.5 bb)
MP: $0.98 (49 bb)
CO: $6.56 (328 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K K
UTG folds, MP calls $0.02, CO folds, BTN raises to $0.10, SB folds, Hero calls $0.08, MP calls $0.08

Flop: ($0.31) T 8 9 (3 players)
Hero checks, MP checks, BTN bets $0.28, Hero raises to $1.90 and is all-in, MP folds, BTN calls $1.62

Turn: ($4.11) T (2 players, 1 is all-in)
River: ($4.11) A (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results: $4.11 pot ($0.23 rake)
Final Board: T 8 9 T A
BTN showed 9 9 and won $3.88 ($1.88 net)
Hero showed K K and lost (-$2 net)
MP mucked and lost (-$0.10 net)

I didnt 3Bet Preflop because I thought it would look very strong given the fact that he made it 5bb so I would have to make a preety big 3Bet out of position and I didnt want him to fold his weaker hands.

On the flop I thought I dont want to see a heart a 7, a J, a Q or an A. I have a very good hand but theres 22 cards that will ruin my day, if I shove now I wont have to face a J of hearts and a pot sized bet on the turn.

Not 3betting preflop is a mistake any way you slice it, it's basically always going to be more profitable. Calling preflop creates a bunch of unfavorable conditions.

Your hand is okay on the flop, but it's not great. Either villain could have any straight, set, or 2 pair combo. MP is also still to act, which increases the likelihood of this occurring.

You really do want to 3-bet this and gets it heads up. Most people at 2nl aren't folding once they get into the hand. If you made it .30, it might knock out the limper. When you call there he just gets better odds to call with whatever he has. The better the odds the less likely he is to make a mistake.

So if you make it .30, limper folds, button calls you have a roughly .63 pot and effective stacks would be 1.70 or so.

This flop usually crushes a button raise/call. 88-TT, QJs, are all very reasonable holdings.

I don't think it's a slam dunk fold and it's not an easy call (or shove), I think it's really read dependent.

3bet pre all day. You're going to get called 100% of the time. Cbet flop for almost pot and if you get raised fold if it is a passive opponent, but call if it is an aggro opponent.

If you’re not 3betting here preflop, what hands are you 3 betting with? Trapping here is not a good idea with the fishy limper plus the 14/10 guy who almost certainly has a strong to really strong range here. 3bet to at least .40 here.

Preflop you should 3-bet here, but you won't get called 100% of the time. That's a good thing, because you should be 3-betting enough other hands that those folds represent profit to your whole 3-betting range.
