if a reg starts grinding stars in 2016 and wins from the off at 50 or 100, they have to be a bot right? or am i underestimating the amount of decent players with no previous volume on stars

no they dont have to be a bot, although it becomes more likely that they are one. Some ppl have only bumhunted on other sites pre rus ptr and come back to stars and start winning. Some ppl are winners in seggregated countries and move and start beating the world pool. Some ppl play underage and when they reach legal age they make a new user and start winning. Some ppl only extreme table select in 50nl or play only a couple of tables and think through every spot. Some ppl are just on a extreme heater.

Pretty sure he used to bumhunt high stakes hu. I actually agree with the latter of your post too. Am not sure whether the changes to RB have just significantly altered the zoom pool regs at 200 but my impression now is that, while there are still some v v good 200 zoom regs, the average 200 zoom reg is abysmal.

There always used to be debates on which format had the toughest regs but I really don't think that there is a debate to be had now.

best 200nl reg table regs have best scripts, ldo. In zoom there are more clueless lolregs, but average winning reg is def. better not even close. I know 2 guys in stars who have bumhunted themselves from 25nl to 200nl withouth having any fundamentals or any clue about strategy, only mechanics that work against fish and they table select like crazy and also havent met a downswing.
