I shouldn't have paid that huge river bet, right? I don't think that a worse hand would play like this. I just didn't think it through because the timer was running out.

You think? Seems like by the river all I have is a bluffcatcher. I need to be right 39 % of the time to make the call. I don't know.

If I open AQo UTG or in MP and face a 3-bet, I fold. It's close, but I don't think it's profitable to call 3-bets with AQo if you opened in EP.

If you had AQcc (AQs is a standard call vs a 3-bet) then I guess it's a crying call on the river. Villain has some spades, hearts and possibly JTs/KJs.

River bet is only 66% of pot, I wouldn't really call that huge. Also, your calculation for how often you need to be correct is wrong. The right number is ~28%.

If you flop TPTK in a 3bet pot with a really good runout you just shouldn't find a fold. You really only have 99 as a better hand. Yeah, it sucks having the Ah but we still need to be calling here.

I think the flat preflop is fine btw, although maybe not at these stakes where 3bets out of the blinds against early positions tend to be strong.

Thanks for replying. You're right, it's 28 % more or less. So if I'm on the top of my range in a certain situation I shouldn't find a fold for the sake of being balanced?

Are you really at the top of your range on river? Which worse hands can you have?

Crying call. I'd expect to see AQ, KK+ most of the time.

I'd fold preflop I think, but as played definitely not folding on this river.

Which better hands can you have is the better question and the answer is probably only 3 combos of 99. Then you are picking which AQ combos to call. To be fair, it's close and if you have all 12 combos of AQ then maybe we don't have to call them all but we should be calling more often than not and we should expect to be good more than 28% of the time.
