Out of position I would be raising to about $0.42 pre, maybe even a little bigger since we should be really polarized from the BB. Out of position I'm also often 5bet jamming with AK although it depends on villains preflop aggression.

Folding the river seems like the right play to me.

+1. The PF 3-bet is a little small OOP. Shoving AK BB vs CO 100BB deep is also fairly standard IMO.

As played, betting turn and c/c turn both seem okay? I think I'm leaning toward b/f at micros because we don't have to think twice about folding to a raise, but we don't really have much of an equity advantage against villain's continuing range (if any). And the river spot is still gross under both options.

C/f'ing this river seems pretty straightforward. If villain is turning AK into a bluff or has something like A2ss-A5ss here, more power to him. We're really low in our range OTR and have a lot better we can deliberate calling with.

I agree that a bet on the turn is in order. We should not be flopping tptk and checking it twice, unless we enjoy being capped. We have to make some attempt to win the hand unless we are so high in range that we basically block any reasonable hand that might pay us off.

Barring a read that the player doesn't ever 4bet/fold, with 101bb effective, I just ship it preflop. Makes your life easier. You have blockers to the 2 hands you're most afraid of, and 5bet shoves fold out a lot of stuff that's slightly favorite against you ( TT, JJ, some people will fold QQ ), and split pots (folding out their AK).

Seeing flops on a 4bet pot without a made hand... Well, this often bring this kind of situation. You hit TPTK (best you can reasonably hope for) but you end up folding anyway because it's probably no good.

Best you can reasonably expect is that, TPTK, and unless you're lucky enough that everything else is low cards (K2237), there will often be some broadways in there and if he's trying to get the money in you'll be left wondering if he's playing for stacks with same hand you have, or if he's value betting a set of jacks.

Bottom line : This might seem a bit amateur-ish (I'm an amateur anyway) but unless you're very confident in your post flop decisions in huge pots (likely to be for stacks before/on the river) I think 5betting AK is just the safer play, against an unknown anyway. Calling the 4bet brings very tough decisions unless you flop a miracle. (even TPTK wasn't 'miracle' enough in this hand, and how often do you get better than that?). I feel more confident about my decision of 5bet shoving, than I do about either decision on these streets.

And if you don't hit anything, now you're left thinking if you float overs against an unknown, and you'll probably get bluffed a lot by the same hand you got (and sometime worse, like AQ).

Feels like you can't go wrong shipping in pre, but you can go very wrong by playing a 4bet flop/turn with AK, improved or not.

    Standard5b pre
AP-Call river you dont have many better hands because most of your str8s and sets lead or c/r turn and our hand is little bit under rep
