Appreciate line check. First hand played with villain, so no reads.

I dont think there's much debate until turn. Could argue fold there, but seems pretty nitty.

In hindsight i hate my line. Turn call / river fold is not great especially when all draws miss. Is this a case of if I call turn, I must call this river?

it's fine to fold river after calling turn. It's not your line that you hate, it's losing the hand.

From a poker theory point of view you are supposed to call the turn and then fold the river with some hands. Assuming you folded the river I think you played it fine.

I tank folded. Does that count?

Thanks for the line check. Im insta folding on a draw completing card, but wandered if it was theoretically wrong to fold if most draws bricked. There is of course possibility villain was button clicking in BvB spot.

To the posters above, what's your reasoning on calling turn to fold river?
Or to put the question in a different way... If your line is call turn/hope river goes check/check or you're folding... Approximately what % of time do you expect villain to check river after raising flop and betting almost full size pot on the turn?

People say nothing as changed in these spots when a blank hits otr but villain has fired a 3rd street, the bet is a different percentage of the pot, you'r getting a different price and your hand has fully realised it's equity. Villain as draws ott. Some opponents never barrel with busted draws so in some instances flatting ott and folding to the river bet will definitely be correct.
Villain should be pretty polarized here. You lose to sets and beat missed fds and misplayed overpairs. Tempting to call down.

This sums up the reasoning as I see it pretty good. Most players at these stakes will bet their draws but give up when they brick. Against a tough, aggressive player a call down could be fine but against the average 10NL player I think we are facing a set or 2 pair quite often when he pots the river.
