NL25 - Float Bets Turned Into River Bluff NL25 - Float Bets Turned Into River Bluff

So I recently moved up to NL25, and I am starting to add floating into my game and adding some more bluffing into my game as I play more regs at this level.

I would like a critique of this hand, including if you think I played the bluff well on the River regardless of outcome (I wont post the outcome)

If you are my opp here, are you calling or folding most of the time. Villian is a 28/23 through 40 hands on Ignition (so always a limited sample)

Hand History driven straight to this forum with DriveHUD Poker HUD & Database

NL Holdem $0.25(BB)
HJ ($12.2)
CO ($25.53)
HERO ($36.77)
SB ($35.33)
BB ($27.03)

Dealt to Hero J A

HJ Folds, CO Raises To $0.75 (Rem. Stack: 24.78), HERO Calls $0.75 (Rem. Stack: 36.02), SB Calls $0.65 (Rem. Stack: 34.58), BB Folds

Flop ($2.50) 5 T 5
SB Checks, CO Bets $1.5 (Rem. Stack: 23.28), HERO Calls $1.5 (Rem. Stack: 34.52), SB Folds

So I float the flop here with two overcards and its fair to think my opp is just throwing out a Cbet here. Good chance he didnt hit the board but again I have two overcards. If he checks to me on the turn I expect to take it down with a bet. Small sample of course, but he has cbet 4/5 hands thus far.

Turn ($5.50) 5 T 5 K
CO Bets $3.5 (Rem. Stack: 19.78), HERO Calls $3.5 (Rem. Stack: 31.02)

So here he is betting me and I decide to continue to float this with the overcard and the gutshot. I still am not thinking bluff here. My guess is at best he has either a 10 or a K here so my hand still does have plenty of showdown value with 7 outs.

River ($12.50) 5 T 5 K 4
CO Checks, HERO Bets $6.5 (Rem. Stack: 24.52), CO.....

So the Spade coming out opens me up to a shot at a bluff here to represent a flush. I could easily represent this hand with there being a flush draw on the flop, and calling the flop and the turn with a flush draw, hitting it on the river. If he bets of course I will fold it up, but once he checks, I think I can execute the bluff here and expect a fold.

So thoughts?

Technically I agree with the other comments... BUT. ...

ur on the btn and ur range is wide open. His small open bet lets u in with a huge range that u wouldn't necessarily 3bet with. AP I've successfully run this bluff tons of times.

My only suggestion would be to bet bigger. Half pot river bluffs are not as effective. At least 3/4 pot if not full, depending on V's tendencies.

Yea for me AJ to a standard 3x CO raise is always a call from the BU. As for the river bet, good call on the higher raise.

I play it the same way but also bet the river bigger as someone else suggested.

I'm folding the turn.

I float a lot of flops, and usually I flat AJo otb vs a CO open rather than 3bet it, it depends on how call/squeeze happy the blinds are.

OTT he leads for 2/3rds and we have maybe 6 outs here so I just muck my hand. If he leads ~1/2 pot I'd call, more than that and I'm done with the hand.

OTR I like the bluff. Spades come in so we rep the spades and I think a half pot bet looks super valuey here so there is no need to go bigger.
