Is anybody making $400+ per month at NL10 on Stars? Been trying to get up to this avg. per month for a while but really struggling to get beyond $250 per month at Stars and I'm playing as much as I can in my free time. Is 888 really that much softer?

Stars= 6bb rake with no rewards & fairly hard site
888= Softer than stars, the limits play 1 stake down but also has no rewards & about 10bb rake.

You can make $ on both but stars is just a better experience due to software & support advantage + hud work. I say stay on stars & just work on your game.

You don't make monies at micro stakes.

You make monies at mid stakes+ and you use micro stakes to improve your game and build a roll for higher limits.

Grind out 40+ buyins for 25nl and move up, then grind out 40+ buyins for 50nl and move up and so on.

Keep working on your game and improving your play and end up playing a game where you make a decent hourly rate.

Time is the most precious resource you will ever have and you don't want to be spending hours and hours of it grinding 10NL.

If you're winning @ 5bb/100 then winning 40bi will take 80k hands on average. Of this the variance/possibilities is pretty huge.

Rake is the biggest factor here in my opinion. The past few months I’ve played 10NL through 100NL on Stars and the amount of rake paid is night and day really.

I’d suggest moving up to at least 25NL if not 50NL if you can- you really notice the difference and it’ll help your winrate!

What about getting staked?

Thanks a lot for all the helpful suggestions, I do plan on moving up/taking some shots at NL25 when I reach 50 buy ins (NITTY management I know but I imagine my winrate at NL25 will take a big hit at least initially). I think I will definitely check out 888 or some other site soon for a month or so to compare rakeback and see if I can get the table volume I need consistently. As for getting staked its not something i've ever really thought about I assumed it was more of a MTT player/high stake cash game thing?

You can get 35% flat rakeback on Betfair through most affiliates and along with all the other bonuses on offer it all adds up to around 55% rakeback. Which is worth around half your target in rakeback alone per month at 10nl. On Micro gaming you can get 30% flat rakeback with rakeraces and other bonuses it will be around 40%-50%. Personally i wouldn't stick to a site which offers such bad deals. I don't know why so many people still do. I would pick a site that has softer player pools and offers far better deals and bonuses. From personal experience raketherake is a trust worthy affiliate.

Could you tell us about your experience with Micro gaming if you have any? I was thinking about switching from PS but don't know much about other sites and I feel it's hard to find reliable info.

I think this would be too low of a level to get staked. You are getting eaten alive by rake then add the % of the stake you gotta give back

Well what I meant was could it be an avenue for playing higher? If you can prove to be a winner at the micro stakes can you qualify for staking at a higher limit?
