Hey guys,

I just moved up limits and started playing NL 100 zoom. I was curious about this spot:

No Limit Hold'em $0,50/$1,00
PokerStars
6 players
Formatiert mit pokerpilot.com: Der Poker-HUD für Mac und Windows

Stacks:
UTG - UTG ($130,93)
MP - MP ($117,56)
CO - CO ($77,17)
BTN - Hero ($100,00)
SB - SB ($307,41)
BB - BB ($63,73)

Preflop: ($1,50, 6 players) Hero is BTN with 7 6
2 folds, CO raises to $2,00, Hero raises to $7,00, SB raises to $15,00, 2 folds, Hero calls $8,00

Flop: 8 T 3 ($33,00, 2 players)
SB bets $17,18, Hero calls $17,18

Turn: A ($67,36, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

River: J ($67,36, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $67,82 (all-in)

So I looked at possible hand combinations and it comes down to this:
I have 28 hands I would play like this for value: AA, AKo, AKs, AJs, KQs, J10s JJ, 1010
I have 12 hands I would play like this as a bluff: 109s, 98s, 87s, 65s
When it comes to AJs, KQs etc. I excluded combinations with a backdoor flush draw.
So looking at the line he took, I believe it is likely that he has some kind of a weak A or QQ, KK. Or something totally random... You never know. I feel one can pretty mcc exclude super premium hands from his range. I don't even believe he can have AK in this spot.

What do you think about my line? Seems good to me. Also the ratio of bluff vs value hands looks decent in my eyes. Would love to hear your thoughts!
Cheers from Germany

Max

You should be getting to the flop with your entire (or close to?) 3betting range minus the 4bets so you should be overfolding flop massively. 7c6c is a very clearcut fold here.

The rest of the hand is fine.

I think you mean you excluded hands without Backdoor Flush Combinations in your analysis.

I don’t know if we should be value betting hands like AK OTR, also I think you bet a hand like TT OTT so I would discount that from your value range. I have feeling we are going to be overbluffing a bit here as I doubt you would just give up a hand like T9 on the river and go to showdown knowing you are likely going to lose.

Also what about hands like KT and all your broadway suited hands? I’d much rather bluff hands with blockers then hands like 76 unblock all the monster hands Villain can have.

You are going to be way overbluffing here. This run out favors the original 4bettor much more than the 4bet caller.

Hi, CO is likely to be a fish with 75bb that opens 4x, why would you ever 3bet him light ? I don’t get it to be honest. I guess to iso him but you are facing a face up strongish part of his range so I would just fold or call seems fine IP as well

What’s you’re read on vilain 2 ? Because you 3 betting a fish that opens 4x and he just clicks you back. I mean is clearly repping even stronger . I don’t even know if he ever bluffing with this sizing so it’s likely to just be JJ+
That’s kind of a ****ty spot but you are clearly with bottom range with you’re 3bet so you really really don’t need to defend 76s, even IP

The rest follow through. You shouldn’t be calling pre without a clear plan and a read on vilain. Exactly the range you think he has, and exactly which runout you’ll be bluffing

Tbh with the sizing he choose + the fact that you are new to the stake so villain probabbly don’t know you and would suppose you are a fish. He just tried to milk you out with his 4bet sizing and you bite

Do we ever jam flop with this combo, 87s/ 98s with the BD etc and jam some QQ/ JJ types?

I set as a general rule of life not to bluff uncapped fish

this fishy guy would have to fold some 45%
I don't think that's happening

if we had QQ/JJ he would have to fold 30% or so
AK would be about that. not to mention what else he shows up with
so yeah looks good

I mean, having a jamming range of some combos here allows us to deny equity and puts him in a weird spot with say AK high.

We should never jam with this combo, it's too weak. 98s,87s perhaps at some frequency but I wouldn't against this guy.

Yeah that’s fair play, I can get behind being a bit more merged with the strategy (if we have a jam range v a fish).
