Min betting as opposed to checking Min betting as opposed to checking

I'm starting to see this more and more. Certain players never check any of their range. They will just min bet. Sometimes you raise the min bet on the flop and they blast the turn. Or they min bet, you raise, on the turn they min bet again, you raise and they fold. It is as if they don't have a check button.

If this a thing now?

I thought bots too maybe. I don’t know if it’s part of a smart strategy where they are hiding the strength of their hand, pot control, or just pushing buttons.

I see a lot of it but it’s 2nl so who knows. Could also be players that don’t understand bet sizings. As a cbet bluff it only needs to work such a small percentage of the time so I’ll give them that much credit. Maybe that’s the thinking.

I was just wondering if this is a new strategy I wasn’t aware of.

I see the min bets a lot. Typically the players have High VPIPs and High/Low PFRs so could just be players who don't understand bet sizing and are fishy.

Just call based on pot odds and their range. Sometimes you get some players with good stats doing it though so maybe it's some new strategy people haven't caught onto yet

Will say though I always seem to lose these pots more than I win. Couldn't really understand how it works in terms of EV because you're just giving the other player insane odds

If they are on any thinking level I think it is a form of pot control. Also to get a read. If I min bet and you call more than likely you are weak. I basically get to see a free card if I am on a draw or something.

I almost always raise and double barrel vs them but every now and then they will nuts on the turn.
