Hi, I am new here,

Playing microstakes no-limit hold'em in various formats for a long time, looking to get better and build a roll.

    PokerStars - $0.05 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
    Hand converted by Holdem Manager

    BTN: $4.82 (96.4 bb)
    SB: $9.75 (195 bb)
    BB: $5.00 (100 bb)
    UTG: $3.61 (72.2 bb)
    MP: $19.76 (395.2 bb)
    Hero (CO): $6.68 (133.6 bb)

SB posts $0.02, BB posts $0.05

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.07) Hero has Q K
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.15, BTN calls $0.15, 2 folds

    Flop: ($0.37, 2 players) 7 J K
Hero bets $0.21, BTN calls $0.21

    Turn: ($0.79, 2 players) 4
Hero bets $0.55, BTN calls $0.55

    River: ($1.89, 2 players) 6
    Hero checks, ...

    Preflop:
I open KQo in the CO and the BTN flats, blinds fold. I have 0 stats on the BTN.

    Flop:
I flop top pair with a good kicker against probably a very wide range. I bet $0.21 into $0.37 which is on the smaller side and looks like a cbet that contains a lot of bluffs still, and doesn't give away my hand strength. I elected to bet smaller because there aren't too many hands that can call me, but there are a lot of hands that can hit a backdoor draw and then call the turn. So I am kinda hoping he floats me here on the flop or calls with a weaker pair, and I am planning to bet bigger on the turn.

    Turn:
Turn comes a blank but can hit some of his suited spade hands. I bet $0.55 into $0.79 and he calls again which makes me think he's either got a made hand, spades, or QT specifically.

    River
River does complete the flush but is a blank otherwise. I probably have the best hand but I at the moment of playing I was kinda worried he was trapping me with a better hand like a set or KJ, and he could hit a flush as well. It would be a bad slowplay if he has a set or KJ, but that doesn't mean he doesn't do it. Anyway, I decided to check this time and probably call a bet.

Is this a clear valuebet-fold, or what do you think about the river?

I think I x/c the river. Micro stakes players will often get to the river with weak/marginal hands and then decide to bluff in a spot like this. They see a threatening card and smell weakness when you check, so they try to steal the pot.

I'm gonna guess sdv hands check back mostly. Can't be scared of getting runnered all the time, clear vbet

bet fold seems good, feels tough to get 3 streets of value vs worse but at micros this happens obviously a lot. can see this being the bottom of our 3 streets for value range though

      Hi,

      general:

I guess BTN is a fish as he has less than 100bb stacks (96.4). usually good regs if they fell short of the max stack, they top it off. they never play less than the max value.

      1) I prefer a preflop raise of 2.5x or 3x from CO
      2) I would bet 2/3 of Pot on flop and turn with TPGK on that board

      river:
Darth_Maul is right. But it is exactly for the same reason I usually bet / fold 1/3 - 1/2 pot on the river vs a fish. What would you do if you check and fish bets pot or shoves ?

You bet to "know where you stand" as well as "bet to extract from losing hands"

the good thing is even if you get called and lost, it is a good price to pay for the info on the type of cards they take it to showdown

It is a default check/call vs a reg as your hand has good showdown value.
