I dont think flop is good for either player but as UTG vs field caller I have AA, KK, QQ, JJ. Assuming he missed, I cbet just under 1/2 pot.

Turn brings in the front door FD. I have lots of AsXs in range - but no spades in my hand - so decide to bet turn 2/3 pot repping the flush. Bad idea and V calls. Hoping he doesnt have the flush.

River puts trips on the board and this is a scary board. I X expecting it to X through and I lose. When V bets I think the only way I can possibly win this pot is to raise here 3x, making it look like I set him up on turn, checking to X/R.

I was blown away when I d/l the hand history tonight to see that V folds a boat here.

I think I should have X turn - turn bet was dumb considering my actual hand. I think the X/R on river wasnt a bad idea as it was the only possible way I was going to have a chance at taking the hand down. Only reason I went for it is because of how passive V's line was - looked along the way he had a medium strength hand and bet when I X river, plus the board was super scary here and it would be hard to call my river bet without the nuts based on all my aggression and he didnt have AA, KK, QQ in range.

Turn but was dumb but it did set me up for the X/R on river. If I had X turn the X/R story on river is weaker IMHO and I would have had to fold river.

Thoughts? Too spewy and I just got lucky? Or not such a bad play on river given board texture, ranges and action?

Check flop. The vast majority of their CO flatting range is just pocket pairs, the rest are suited overcards, so you don't do so well on low flops like 633tt. You can rangecheck a lot in these kinds of spots.

raise smaller pre flop.

Check flop. Bet isn't great.

Turnbet is not good at all. We have so many other hands to bluff with.

River isn't great either imo. On one hand river x/r is seldom bluffs so you probably will get more folds than you should. But in reality If you have TT-AA or 66 and one combo A3s you will so often just follow through and bet river yourself which makes the river check/raise less credible.

CO shouldn't bet 77-99 or flushes otr so really he got punished for his riverbet here.

Definitely spew

Not a good reason to bet a hand with no equity, especially as Swedishmonkey already mentioned, you have better hands in your range to use. The idea that I have "X" in my range and can therefore continue bluffing can get you into trouble. It's how you end up getting to the river with such a shitty range. It's better to use that logic for betting in scenarios where villain can't have many strong hands. So while you may have lots of AsXs in your range. There is nothing to suggest villain doesn't have any flushes in their range, or pairs with a spade that will continue.

When V bets I think the only way I can possibly win this pot is to

Don't think in terms of winning or losing. Just try to make the highest EV decision. Out of all your options on the river, I would be surprised if XR wasn't the one with the lowest EV.

river is against zeebo theorem, but splashy bad reg actully can fold hand that he should not even valuebet, so it's okayish, turn sizing is too big with any creditable hand you have here (not this one)

Hand is butchered all around. Fortunately for you, villain extra-butchered the most important street. Yikes.
