I'm not a fan of calling 4bets 100bb deep not as a default line. Id need info to want to do so. And set mining 4bet pots isn't profitable so it's not a good plan with hands like JJ QQ if we want to fold the flop vs a cbet. And AK doesn't realize much of it's equity like that either preflop or postflop.
In games where people call 3bets very wide and only really 4bet KK+ for value from ep it's a great strategy. But in general id agree that 3bet folding those hands isn't the best option. Id usually just be 5betting ai with those hands rather than calling 4bets with them. And in some cases i think they can make better flats pre from say the bb vs ep in a hu pot.
I mean, as soon as they ever 4bet AKo, you can profitably call here in my opinion.
But I can understand that the ranges are very narrow and it’s dicey to play post. If you’re going to play fit or fold post then shoving is probably better.
^^^^If you 3bet JJ QQ and get 4bet btn vs utg for instance how do you play them ? . My only issue is with playing them vs a 4bet as a pure set mine , not with calling the 4bet and playing the hands . I've seen a few threads recently with people advocating calling the 4bet as a pure set mine because of preflop odds. I don't think that can be correct though. In general though i think flatting 4bets vs ep with JJ QQ AK is ok.
I may flat a utg raise with JJ but the rest of these hands are auto 3bets. With regard to action facing a 4bet it is opponent specific. Im 5 bet stacking off with AA/KK and probably QQ as well. Mostly calling a 4bet with AK/JJ.
