I feel kind of good now as I'm pretty disciplined in this area and don't do things like moving up for chasing losses. But knowing when to quit is definitely something almost everybody can improve for himself.
Please, put this one here: The best of uNL - Strategy posts
This a crucial thing. There are so many posts about this topic - but it cannot be repeated often enough.
Everyone is saying:"Yeah, of course that makes sense." But are you really acting the right way (immediately stop playing, not waiting until the blinds arrive)?
I've always assumed rostucko = unstuck, and robusto = ballin'. Possibly not. I'll leave it how you have it unless I hear otherwise. Fwiw I edited my post again with my analysis of the article. Loved it.
I don't have as big problem with this as most. Actually have opposite problem more in that I insta-quit winning sessions because zomg don't want to lose (and losing sessions so I don't lose more)... so I don't play enough in general. It's been really bad for the past 2 months. Putting in almost no hands for some reason... meh.
Man, I don't know you, but you are gold..
very good to know for in my "poker-future"
and Ps.
(P.S.: Yes, I know "piso mojado" means "wet floor," but it sounds so darned dangerous that it seems to fit nicely in the warning-warning-warning sentence.)
very good read, my first pokey thread response! I do have a question tho, in the experiment you mentioned, people are suppsed to choose the certainty option I get that coz people are risk averse. But as poker players, aren't we are suppose to be risk neutral? the EVs for AB, CD options are all the same. What would you guys have chosen?
First Pokey thread where I didn't have to dig through archives; as usual, good stuff. Haven't yet had to go through this but I'm sure somewhere along the line the need to get rostucko will present itself. Keep up the great work.
This was me twice. Moving up stakes is not a good idea when you're on tilt.
On my first bankroll I lost it all playing 50nl and 3betting with 42o and folding on the river with a straight even if it made no sense for the guy to have a higher straight at the time and there wasn't any flushes or fhs possible.
