in defense of shove river:

- think many regs XB flop with their AXss instead of betting half pot on 997
- Hero not gonna realistically get to river with spade blocker almost ever, not defending pre w/JTsx, not xr'ing flop/barreling turn w/As

flop might be a bit loose. I think you'd want a minimum of 6d5d or Jd8d
wouldn't say he's capped otr, plenty of trips, flushes and boats
I remember studying x/r paired boards and the solver loves x/r bottom pairs that block trips and these are the combos it would always use to bluff rivers . so 87/T7/A7 in this case.
but this is vs an opp who defends perfectly so maybe it's ok to bluff a lot if he always folds trips, or, as you said, may not have most nut flushes

Slamdunk defend vs 2.5x sizing

But def super marginal (~EV is BE maybe +/- .03bb something like that) vs 3x

Pure fold anything bigger than 3x.

Seems like a bad candidate for a bluff. It doesn't really block anything, and we have plenty of other hands with better equity (spades, spades + gutshot, T8, gutshot + diamonds, etc.)

I'm also not sure I agree with the claim that V's typically xb their NFD combos
