FOLDING A SET IN A HU 3BET POT 100BBS DEEP? FOLDING A SET IN A HU 3BET POT 100BBS DEEP?

Hero raises 2.2bbs from button with 1010 villain (bad reg) in the BB 3bets to 8bbs.

Flop: A j 10

BB cbets 8bbs Hero raises to 22.5bbs villain re-raises 40bbs.

Hero?

Smells like aces maybe JJ or the old KQ almost always. But I can't really lay down a set in a 3bet pot on the flop can I? If I call to due to his range being more weighted towards KQ (assuming he 3bets pre all combos at a high frequency) and a blank turn comes he shoves, then what? I'm already "committed" and I called a 3bet on the flop in a 3bet pot so just to fold on a the turn is not a line I'm interested in taking.

If I re-jam he calls with better maybe AJ possibly A10 if he plays those hands this way aswell.

You can fold if you want but probably not ideal

board: AcJcTs
Hand Equity Wins Ties
TdTh 58.32% 18,299 356
JJ+, Axkc, AxQc, AxJx, KxQx, Qc9c 41.68% 13,025 356

I don't think you are fairing as well as in this demonstration, but if he has any AT+ combo/ flush draw combo, or 2 pair combo you shouldn't fold.

If you fold and he shows you AA that isn't exactly good poker. You just got lucky and probably made a -EV decision.

Now all that could go out the window if he is the biggest nit in the world, and only 3bets AA as you have never seen him 3bet AK or JJ. But nothing in your post suggests that, you just said he is a bad reg.
