don't check flop, you have the strongest range by far

bet smaller so you can bet wider, close to whole range

Why bet the flop with the intention of folding to a turn bet?

Played perfectly ok i think. You could cbet smaller 1/3p but i think 1/2p to generate some more folds from over cards is ok as'well.

I wasn't the one that said Bet OTF. Are we trying to build a pot with second pair? Betting OTF just seems like we're throwing chips in the pot with the hopes that the Villain folds. I would like to hear your reasoning for betting because I'm not sure X OTF is the correct play either.

You have very likely still got the best hand, but it's very vulnerable. So you want to cbet for some value and protection. It's a pretty good flop for 88. It's full ring though and i don't play fr

Because the turn won't always be the As and villain won't always bet it.

You can get value from some worse hands and it's good to fold out some equity.

Try seeing things from villain's perspective. Do you want to face a bet with your weaker range?
Say you have KJ, would you like hero to check or to bet?

Checking back KQ on an AKx flop is another story.

I think the turn is a fold and villain will run into your better hands with his terrible donk many other times.
such as your AA,AKs,AQs,AJs,99,A9s,A3s,A4s (I know not everybody cbets all those but this is a dry low flop and may bring bdfd or sd or make str8).

Makes sense. Thx sir. Do you always play with the Villain's perspective in mind?
