Preflop: ($0.03, 9 players) Hero is UTG+1 with Q K
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.08, 4 folds, BTN calls $0.08, 2 folds

Flop: K 2 4 ($0.19, 2 players)
Hero bets $0.10, BTN raises to $1.59 (all-in), 1 fold, Uncalled bet of $1.49 returned to BTN

Total Pot: $0.39

BTN wins $0.38

Pretty sure I was right to fold, but not 100% and I've been wrong before?

As a follow up, if I had happened to have the A K instead of Q K in this spot I would have called, is this also correct?

Many thanks.

Oh really, that’s not what I expected, so our opening range from early is AQ+, 10+, that’s seem super nitty!

I often 3bet KQ so I am definitely to loose with this hand by those standards.

Opening is probably okay, so is folding, just 3x pre and you can bet smaller otf.

I thought I was loose pre, but unsuited KQ is mucked in the first two seats. As played, I call the flop all in in both of the situations you mentioned, AK or KQ with top pair and a FD. They either have 2pr/set or the Ace (vs your Q). Cant be both, and you are not dead unless they have exactly AK with the Ac.

Not dead, Q(3). Only dead against the nuts.

Thanks for the replies, they were all helpful in different ways.

This hand really bugged me so i've decided to do the math with flopzilla this morning and I cant find the call on the flop.

So against range of pockets aces, any set, any suited AX plus any off suit A and suited connectors 67+ in and the 2 pairs K4,K2, I am 40% dog. So we need 1.5:1 for a call and were getting about 1.25:1 ??

Aside from the fact I should have folded this hand pre is the math I have outlined here correct? Or is there something I am not considering or straight up doing wrong?

Thanks again.
