Flop: (9.5 BB, 2 players) J

BB checks, Hero bets 8.5 BB, fold, BB calls 8.5 BB

BB insta bets 26.5 BB (0.5 sec delay)

I think I should fold in this spot because insta lead pretty much never bluff and most of the time indicates some hand improvement?

It's a weird one for sure.

Insta-anythings are always pretty hard to gain info from because I see different players use them in completely different ways, so I've settled for avoiding levelling myself with them and treating them as normal. In this spot I think we have a clear call and evaluate OTR, probably folding to most sized bets even on blanks.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that this spot is close.

But there is one thing that I don't like. When I'm calling ott then I'm extremely often facing another large bet (pot/jam) otr.

I have very internally feeling that I should fold or jam in this spot because villain's range have very little draws.

I mean fish have either Jx either 2 pair+. Can't see how he can completely bluffing in this spot by insta potting.

I think after all I had to fold ott...

Fish used to just pot donk whenever a draw completed and they had it but I think like anything that evolved into including a bunch of spaz bluffs too.

Sets are probably raising flop so have to be discounted somewhat. Jx spazzes scared of draws are possible. 67 getting overly excited will do this a lot. Mostly I think you're hoping he comes up with enough draws, which is easily done in principle but in practice probably not so much.

But I tend not to give these kind of players too many opportunities before I call these spots, that's why I said to look for any other spewy plays in the previous 50 hands.

Since he's playing 80bbs, he's going to be a big fish. We can't fold this big of a hand vs. a big fish. Shove turn for a bit of value and a bit of protection.

Maybe I'm just being a nit so I'm overly worried here, but what hands do you think he's doing it with? He's 35/12 so definitely a fish, and from my experience passive fish who calls that many hand rarely make big bets with their weaker holdings (or any holdings really), and they don't go crazy with draws either, they just call call fold or call call shove when they hit. You see him doing this with a draw or some JT?

Again maybe I'm just too nitty, but if I shove here I expect a call and be shown straight/set a lot. Or at least a weird two pairs. When 35/12 fish start betting into me I usually take a pause and reevaluate, even with TPTK.

That is pretty much my thoughts during hand (hoping for a some stupid Jx).

But honestly I believe that I was in a some sort of a soft tilt. Almost folded btw but ended up shoving. Sad.
