I play more NL50 these days but I assume it's similar to NL25, and I see lots of players check Ax (even AK sometime) on flops like A82 in 3bet/4bet pots.

Thank you, I think I have a general grasp on the players I can profitably do this against. It's not going to work so well against regs that 4b bluff A5s type hands and will usually check flop.

On another note, what do you think of jamming flop, opposed to raising smaller or checking?

Using your raw equity vs his range as justification to call the 4bet is insane.

You only get to realise that equity at showdown, and if you don't hit your set which is gojng to happen over 87% of the time, you're almost never getting to a showdown. What board can you x/c three times and realise your equity that doesn't contain a 3? What can you bluff him off given he has every premium in his range and is in position? The 3 bet is pretty loose, the 4 bet call is just spew.

This thread is fantastic. OP's like some guy who got drunk, drove his car off a cliff, leapt out the window and miraculously landed in a tree and whose only concern afterwards is what everyone thought of the summersault he pulled in mid-air.

Preflop:

33 is a hand that you should never 3 bet in position, and perhaps from anywhere, in a cash game. You should just call and try to see a flop and catch a set.

I love these threads where OP asks a question about a spot and that spot never gets talked about because of a massive error prior that he'll defend to the death.

OP

To be quite honest, I don't necessarily think that OP's wrong here about flatting the 4b. A cold 4-bet is going to be very strong. It's the reasoning and plan for flops/turns that make it bad and -ev for him.

What was bad about my reasoning and plans for flops and turns?
