Re: Did I play to obvious?

I don't think it's obvious you have a str here as long as you do this w fd's etc. If you are only raising str or sets, then, yeah, it's too obvious.

It may be better to xc turn. Pot size is weird. Your sizing is only .5p but leaves only .5p to bet otr.

Re: Did I play to obvious?

opening 56dd and calling 3b oop at micros seems like spew to me. roughly what % of your utg opening range are you continuing with vs 3b? The board coverage you gain from doing this is negated by the fact your opponents are generally not 3betting correctly..

AP x/c and x/r turn looks fine, sizings are good.

If I was in the opponents shoes:
If i'm holding some kind of Jx hand this is looking real scary.
Unless I have some kind of set a good player is probably dropping this often.

I would raise as well but not 100% of the time somewhere around 50-75% if you are raising every gutshot with bdfd you are raising too much. That's just my opinion.

Looks fine. Reasonable spot to mix in some bluffs as well.

AJ even? What do you continue with in that case? Overpairs, sets, 56 and A5

What makes you think this is so scary? Just that they can't have many bluffs? I guess double club broadwa|ys are the only 'natural' bluff here. Maybe 55 since we block A5 which villain can def have and we can river the nuts. I guess if we're opening to 2x we can have 55 here right?

Re: Did I play to obvious?

So the hand went: raise, 3B, call

check, call

check, check raise

If I'm holding AJ I'm probably thinking "Either this is some weird bluff, or
he has me slaughtered right here."

Maybe that's just the weak tight gene in me.

Fold 56 utg, or at least make it 3bb, fold to 3b. Postflop is fine.

yeah I was a bit tilted so I decided to call. What kind of hands would you recommend calling in this situation higher suited connecters like 98s ?? I dont like calling hands like Axs Kxs because most of the time Im dominated if I hit a top pair .

Would a good player also fold a over pair here QQ-AA?

A4,A3, few of the aces you're folding or combo draws
turn could be a donk for a small size, looks like you want to prevent him from realizing full equity by x/ a lot of Ax and your TT/99 don't mind both denying some eq and getting value out of 88/77, idk if he 3b those but for that small size he might

Re: Did I play to obvious?

preflop is fine as long as you don't open to much. My ranges have it as like under 5% open UTG and then pure call vs 3b (since you open it so little). Post I think is fine.

I checked in GTOWizard for you and WOW. It is almost pure donking turn. Dunno why tho. I used the GTOWizard preflop ranges for stars 50nl rake, then 500nl rake postflop solves. GTOWizard has made their solved 50nl preflop ranges free for everyone btw.

Preflop:

Flop:

Turn:

Re: Did I play to obvious?

I generally never slow play straights. Too many cards can possibly kill our action. Maybe raise to 2.5x buy I'm never just calling here. NH

Re: Did I play to obvious?

pre is fine vs this 3bet size at some freq, turn raise is awfull imo, you have almost stone cold nuts, hard to balance this hand with reasonable bluffs, you have too few natural bluffs combos on turn, and even those like aqcc might be played as cc along aj, and qq sometimes, you have too many mid pairs on turn that you have to cc on turn too, so for range protection you shouldnt raise nuts IMO, without reads i would fold everything but jj and aj as villain

Re: Did I play to obvious?

Nah, 56s UTG is too loose, heck what are you rfi on the button with? Or better yet, what are you calling 3bets with on the Button, and consider the squeezes?

Too many of these are a big leak.
